Duck, Duck, Goose....

Have you ever looked out the front window and saw a Momma goose walking up the street followed by 5 gooselings (ducklings?)? Well, I did this morning. I heard a 'honking' and checked to see what it was and she was just walking up the road (the correct side and everything) followed by her kids. I took pictures but they didn't come out well even with the zoom on. Now, I am just in a little development but still, that is not something you see every day.
Just waiting for my mulch guy to arrive so I can head out to the gym. Aidan is squaking so I guess nap time is over.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Tuesday

It has been a while since I posted and sad to say I have not done any sewing.... So, here is a picture of some triliums in our woods this weekend.
I also have an updated picture of the boy... sorry for the red eyes I did try to auto correct them but it didn't help. They are still blue but look a little hazel by the center. . Time for a stroller ride, maybe that will put him to sleep as he has not taken a nap other than the little sleep on the 30 minute ride home from the gym around lunchtime. Happy quilting all.

I was tagged!

Michele has tagged me.

Here are the rules:
1. Pick up the nearest book.
2. Open to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people, and acknowledge who tagged you.

Well, I picked up the new quilt book from Nancy, called 'The Thimbleberries Book of Quilts' and page 123 is a picture of a quilt called 'Around Town'. Please play along if you would like to.

No sewing this week or really much of anything...Anyone know where my week went? I did go to the gym yesterday and played in the pool. Then Aidan went to his first grocery store...I guess I should have brought the bottle in since he started fussing as sonn as he woke up! So, I was pretty quick picking up a few things as he was screaming...thank goodness it is still fairly quiet (according to a couple of shopping ladies who reassured me that he wasn't as loud as I thought he was!) and putting my pinky in his mouth was settling him down a little. Today, we ventured to the mall to have lunch with some former coworkers. He did really good... no crying! I got to eat food while it was hot and everything! Then we wandered around a bit and he was really good. I did bring his bottle this time and it was a successful trip.
Off to do laundry...since he is on onesie number 5 today.... I think it will be a sewing night tonight, Mommy deserves some time in the sewing room.
Happy quilting all.

A new project...

I have a new project and I am so nervous! I just bought $72 in fabric to create a cover for a 'cube' which will be our footrest instead of the current coffee table. I have the current cover as a example...but have never done anything like this! I went to the furniture and drapes fabric store and was so overwhelmed looking at all the fabric. I finally found a pretty blue with leaves that should go well in our blue living room and isn't too 'girly'. I hope to cut the pieces tonight and then we'll see how it comes out! Wish me luck.

A friend's blog...

It has been a busy week... out for dinner the last two nights while Daddy stayed home with Aidan. Last night was a business meeting and I was chatting with Jeb and found out she is a quilter! Check out her website if you get a chance and learn about her family quilting together from all over the country! It is a neat idea and they have made some beautiful charity quilts. You can find her at sew sew sisterhood . Ok, need to do type up some notes from the meeting and do my tasks!

Tuesday...

I took the advise given on the needles ....couldn't find topstitching ones at Joann's so picked up 'quilting' 90's. Hopefully they will work... of course I think I was 'pulling' a little too much on the fabric. I'll have to give it a try while Aidan is napping tomorrow... I am wide awake tonight but can't sew since it might wake up DH. I had my bowling banquet tonight with the girls and we went out for a nice dinner. Of course, I ate way too much (prime rib and scallops, yummy) and had desert.... a Chocolate Sin Cake. Which explains why I am wide awake at 10:30 at night. Caffeine overload! Oh well, just waiting for Aidan's midnight feeding and then maybe I will be able to get some sleep after that. So that leaves a good hour.. think I will go up and cut up some fabrics and examine the charity quilt I picked up at the last guild meeting to see what the pattern is.

Monday again...

Well, it was a rainy weekend. I did try some machine quilting yesterday while Aidan and Daddy were napping... broke 4 needles and got very frustrated...so will try again when I get a chance. I just did some loops and really need to work on tension and not breaking needles when they hit the plate! I did get the rows sewn together on a quilt last week so here is a picture with my borders to be... a mottled green fabric, then the flying geese then more of the mottled green fabric. I think it will come out good... Maxie decided she needed to be in the shot!

That's it for now. Need to toss in some laundry and pick up a bit while Aidan is sleeeping off his fever.
Have a great day everyone.

No Sleep!

Yikes! I really got used to him sleeping through the night and boy has that changed. Tuesday night was a 4AM feeding and last night I was up and awake more than in bed sleeping....so we slept in this morning. I did get a little sewing in yesterday while he was napping...sewed some rows together that I had pinned earlier. Eventually I'll finish that top but not sure if that will be this week or not. Ok, almost 1PM so I am off to get a shower while he is sleeping again...wish I could sleep more but now I am wide awake! Oh, I actually read a book last night... it is a 3 story Nora Roberts book. I read the first story over the weekend and did the second last night. This is the first book I have read since Aidan was born....
