An update on Celtic Solstice....

Well, the first two borders are on. Now to find some green for the final border. I think I will make it wider than the pattern calls for to make it a good size quilt. It is 72x72 right now and I think I'll add 5.5 inch borders to make it 82x82 before quilting.

Monkeys?

Mottled bright green for the border?

Emily had to have her picture taken.
Thoughts? Opinions? I had to add a couple of units to make things fit on the pieced border - mine are 22 and 24 instead of 21 and 23.
Mom just weighed in and does not like the green.......
Maybe a 2 inch green, a 1 inch orange and then a 3.5 inch medium blue? Hmmmmm. Must check and see what I have to work with.

Love your quilt! I don't care for the green either. Maybe a narrow strip of green and then something else. Is three borders going to be too much? Can't visualize it... Guess you'll need to audition and decide. Good Luck! ~Jeanne

I think I'd like a wide blue border?

Try a darker color, It will draw your attention to your beautiful quilt design, where as a lighter color edge draws your eyes away-just my opinion

love the celtic solstice! are you doing the "challenge" with jo at country junction to finish up before the new mystery? honestly, neither green border works... I used a multi color blue border on mine. (actually, it was fishes- blue water, green seaweed, and yellow and orange fish- sounds strange, but it worked!) try a dark-ish border- what about blue? that would look nice.

Congratulations. What about a darkish mottled green or blue? Something simple that won't take away from the design in the middle? Shopping may be required!

Deb, I love love love your CS so much! It is looking great! I would use a solid or mottled but not a print on that outer border... whatever color you and your mom like! lol Kathi

Love your CS, but I'm not feeling the green ... glad you've chosen the blue instead.
