Look for the serial number on it and go to the Singer website, type it in and it will tell you the exact date that it was made. The serial number on that one may be on the bottom. I liked to have never found it on that Singer 404 that I bought the other day.
KristieKristiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06928146431909761723noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4763380526259722932.post-67055575701454776182012-10-20T09:17:07.627-04:002012-10-20T09:17:07.627-04:00I love that you have your grandmother's machin...I love that you have your grandmother's machine! I don't know too much about this machine but I think it is fabulous that you can use treadle power or electricity!

Thanks for recipe...you say next time you will make them as muffins. Did it turn out more like a muffin...I think I would like that too.Ellenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14826354433338717185noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4763380526259722932.post-8639848551015677342012-10-20T08:39:13.989-04:002012-10-20T08:39:13.989-04:00How exciting! I bought it because it can do zig-zag, it's really heavy duty (and HEAVY!) and can be treadled or used with a motor. I haven't used it in a long time, but I remember one problem with it is the bobbin access is kind of a pain. I also have vague memories that the bobbin case and bobbins are a little difficult to find, so make sure you have those! It shouldn't be hard to find a manual online. There's a Yahoo group dedicated to vintage Singer sewing machines and they are a great resource. Love seeing your vintage baby! Oh, and thanks for the pumpkin bar recipe - I've been craving something pumpkin (I have an great recipe for pumpkin bread/muffins), but the cream cheese icing sounds wonderful!Angiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09365095115416468818noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4763380526259722932.post-80776513275165673712012-10-19T17:34:12.587-04:002012-10-19T17:34:12.587-04:00Good luck with your machine - do you have an older...Good luck with your machine - do you have an older sewing machine repair guy around? I'd also search the internet - hopefully you can find the missing pages of your manual. Thanks for the recipe - I'll be trying this one of these days! ~JeanneRay and Jeannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16016180736310628859noreply@blogger.com
