Rsc houses

These are the last two pink houses for the month. Notice the dinosaur peeking out the window?

We won't mention that I sewed the house top on wrong... three times before it came out correctly. I might have left them after the first try for lunch.... then managed to sew them wrong again two more times before I got it right. Thankfully it is a 6 inch block so the seams that kept being pulled out were not too big.

I've been enjoying the low humidity in Florida and cooler temps for April (unusual) and stitching out on the back porch in my new chairs in the afternoon for a bit after work. The dog is not happy with me. Seems he can't fit in the chair with me and is not happy with that fact. I tried putting his quilt onto the other rocking chair and patted the chair for him to jump up. He disliked his quilt being outside the living room and tried to pull it off the chair to put it back where it belongs! I thought it was funny. My dog does not like a change in his routine... and it was sit in the recliner with Mom while she cross stitches time!
Linking up with the RSC on a peaceful Saturday.

  1. OMG! Thank you for posting that "outtake" House block photo. I feel your pain. I was so frustrated that I finally had to have my friend Britt sit down with me when I was making a similar block!

  2. Maybe that one house wanted to be a houseboat?! The reversed roof and chimneys give it that look. Bear definitely sounds like a guy who likes his routine. I can relate to that!

  3. Love your quilt at the top of your blog each time you change them--great way to display them and remind 'us' of the ones you have finished--I know what it's like to fix a problem only to do the 2nd time and even a 3rd time wrong!!!?????? Like the story of Bear--animals are entertaining!!! and I did not like those 3 all day rains--I hurt so bad during those days--like the temp we have now--think we can keep it all summer???? Hugs, di

  4. I made a COVID house quilt (21 houses before I stopped) and I don't know how many times I had trouble with the roofs! Pretty ridiculous, but obviously a problem for many!

  5. I'm a bit worried about how that dinosaur got into the little pink house! How funny about your dog and his indoors quilt, seems he knows what he wants. And your new porch chair doesn't fit the bill.

  6. Adorable house blocks, Deb. The little dinosaur peeking out the window makes me smile. Gosh, it sounds like it was one of those days in getting one of the blocks pieced; I have had those days. Sitting outside , enjoying nature and stitching sounds divine.

  7. Cute houses! Sewing upside down parts seems to be contagious this week. I spent way too much time with Jack (the seam ripper) this week.

  8. Cute pretty houses. I like the dinosaur in the window. Who has not struggled with house roofs?! Add me to the list! Poor dog, he doesn't like changes in his routines. Who does, btw?

  9. Love that dino in the window! My quilting partners & I have a rule: 3 strikes & it's done. Unpick twice, sew three times, then it's as good as it's going to get. Good thing you got the roof on right or it would have been upside down forever. LOL
