June already?

Where did the first part of the year go?

The kids are officially done their school year and are now a Senior and Junior in High School. How did this happen?

I've been in a crochet mood, I guess. I got tails worked in and added the grey surround on all the current light blue granny squares. I'll move onto the pile of medium blues - 13 left in the pile. The last stack is bigger of the dark blues. The container of this project will go in the car with us later this month to be assembled into the blanket in our travels up to Vermont. The lighting is not great but will be fine for crochet in the evenings.

Then I pulled the hexagons and got 3 of the 4 stitched. I'll stitch the last one this morning and then stitch them together while watching the F1 race with Aidan.

Then I'll move to the second orange and green string of beads block. I drew the peels placement on the background and the peel stitching shape is marked so it should be easy needle turn applique. I'll have to prep the last 2 for this collection in aqua/teal today

This is the first one in orange I finished off this week.

The dog is insisting on a walk, so I'd better take him out before it gets way too hot.

Your projects are coming along well, DEb. I've put all my projects aside for now until I really feel better--I seem to find myself in a fog state [?]; when I try to concentrate the headaches return!! Ugh!!
Anyway, a beautiful week is forecast--so I hope to do a lot of deck sitting and reading..
Time does fly so fast--each year faster and faster it seems... Your two will be off to college before you know it...
Hugs, Julierose

So love these string of beads blocks...such a pretty block and so great for the monthly challenge as well. Crochet is such a great hobby too, I love it. Yes, where oh where does the time go!

Hope your kids have a great summer! Are you heading to Vermont soon? The crochet project would be a great one for traveling. And look at you, already into the orange! I'm hoping to get some time to look at my orange scraps this afternoon.

I just said that to my husband "June already the year is flying by like usual" where does time go - in a way I wish it would slow down - nice age for the kids - almost all those school years behind and you won't be "scheduled" so much and you won't know what to do with your free time.

Always great when the school year ends and both parents and kids can relax and enjoy summer vacation. Nothing like a good travel project --- especially one that will be used on future trips when finished! Your beads-peel project reminds me I have an applique leaf border for a quilt I need to get back to. It was done Sigh, so many projects so little time!
