I went to a girl scout swap. I brought girl scout books and some crafts and badges that did not get given out in 2020 after things shut down. So, a few boxes and a couple of cubies in my office are empty now.
I was so good, I stayed on the side and chatted with people. I walked around and encouraged other leaders to take things - oh this would be great for this badge work, do you do parties and need a bag of crete paper? I got there early to help unload the trailer of a volunteer that has tons of girl scout crafty things and people leave things at her door! She was unloading all that. Other leaders brought things and exchanged things. I did pick up some Ambassador books (Emily's level now as a Junior in high school).
There was a table across the room with cross stitcheries. A few boxes full of them. After most had been sifted through and there were only 10 or so people left - tucking things in their respective corners of 'stuff to take'.... I wandered over to look. BIG MISTAKE!
Sigh. These kinda jumped intp my hands. I picked up the cross stitch frame from a different box. Then.... there was a bankers box filled with pattern leaflets and small books, organized into sections. Good lord, that landed in my car! There was a section on lighthouses, ocean scapes, alphabets, borders, birds, flowers, holidays, animals, etc. Very organized. That is still in the car.
What a lovely haul you made, Deb!! They will be great as a 2nd-dary project with your usual quilting works...;))) Of course you HAD to take these home with you...and that frame is a lovely one, too--now how could you pass that up--sigh, is right.
ReplyDeleteI broke my "no-buy" this month and ordered two Jolly Bars with the excuse that they are a nice size for my smaller projects. I can rationalize anything...enjoy your new found goodies==no guilt allowed there!! [or here either!!] just fun things...life is too short for guilt...;))))))))))
Hugs, Julierose
Okay - you know we are all laughing with you (not AT you) because we would have done the same thing! Those kits look like fun, and so handy that they have the floss in them, too. I particularly love the little one with the seashells! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteQue montón de tesoros encontraste, imposible resistirse, así que a disfrutarlos y BESICOS.
ReplyDelete(hand raised) I'm guilty! I did that too. I barely have time to quilt and yet, when someone said I have needlework frame to giveaway, I took them home. Yes, them as in 2. Sigh! She did tapestry as with wool and she had some pre-painted canvas to giveaway too. I took them too. What did I do? But it will be fun, right? I love the loons one. Enjoy! ;^)
ReplyDeleteWhoops! So much for not bringing anything home with you!
ReplyDeleteWasn't it nice that people left the best cross stitcheries for you?! I love the loons! I think one should always have a few projects (or many) on hand, Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, Deb, what a haul. I would not have been able to resist either. Yes, it all would have come home with me even at my age now where, you know, I'm old and the stitching years are counting down...no pun intended. I love seeing what folks find like this!
