My singer sewing machine... and a recipe.

I figured I'd finally pop open the sewing machine that is sitting in our reading room as a table. This belonged to my maternal grandmother and I am glad it came home with me when we cleaned out my grandfathers house after he moved into a nursing home.

It turns out I have a Singer sewing machine - with an electric foot pedal but also has a treadle on the bottom that does move back and forth. The model is a 306W. I found most of the instruction book except pages 1-4 and anything after page 53. I have a box of attachments in a little green box as well.

I'd love to try and get this threaded and oiled and see if it will run. Any thoughts?

Pumpkin Bars.
4 eggs
1 and 2/3 cups sugar
1 cup oil
1 - 16 oz can pumpkin
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda

Mix eggs, sugar, oil and pumpkin until fluffy. Stir together four, powder, cinnamon, salt and soda. Add to pumpkin mixture and mix well. Pour into ungreased pan 15x10x1 inch. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 - 30 minutes (I used a 9x13 pan and it took 45 minutes - I'm going to try them as muffins next time!).

Cream cheese frosting
1/2 cup soft butter
1 3oz package of cream cheese
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups confectioners sugar

Beat butter, cheese and vanilla until blended. Add sugar and mix well. Spread on cooled pumpkin bars.
