I had picked up a box of tomato's on Saturday and Sunday was spent doing this. 13 pints and 2 quarts of tomato's. I had a layer left in the bottom that I dealt with today. There were 24 (I had to toss one that spoiled) that I took the skin off and cooked down with a little oil, garlic, salt (oops - used Koser and a bit too much!), and oregano for a marinara sauce. That was dinner with meatballs and homemade bread. I'd show the bread but I made a half batch (one loaf) and there are about 2 slices left! My family loves it.
I also survived cleaning pools yesterday with hubby. I just did the brushing down, he did the rest - water testing, adjusting, cleaning filters and checking equipment. Seems it goes quicker with 2 people! We got done 30-60 minutes before he normally does, so we called the kids and asked if they wanted Zaxby's for lunch. We picked up on the way home and had a nice family lunch on the back screened in porch before we headed out to do the last pool a few streets up from us. Almost time for the nightly hoops session with the boy and the girl thinks it is movie night. I'm thinking Mrs. Doubtfire since neither child has seen that movie yet.

~ ~ ~ waving from my recliner--tired out tonight Julierose
The Little Women movie with Susan Sarandon and Wynona Ryder is one of my all-time favourite movies. Up there with Pride and Prejudice the Keira Knightly version. I read Little 'Women last year again and thoroughly enjoyed it. Your block looks nice. I have not done any hand piecing for a few weeks. Making Strawberry jam tonight to go with the fresh homemade greek style yogurt we make with our Guernsey milk.
I never really got into Little Women not my fave. sounds like a new career calling for cleaning pools - with you helping y'all could do more of them LOL
tomatoes look great.
Your "Jo" is so pretty in purple! I, too, loved the book as a girl, but not sure I ever read Little Men. Your tomato canning is impressive, and pool cleaning, too!
I do like that block it’s almost four cat’s cradles. Looks great. I had to go and look at Zaxby’s I’m always fascinated by the food places you folks mention. I smile because here in Australia anything put on a round hamburger bun is called a burger. Chicken, fish, a mushroom, tofu doesn’t matter it’s a burger. The other one is tuna salad or egg salad. Here you’d get tinned tuna spread directly on the bread and then lettuce, tomato, maybe even beetroot (pickled), sliced onion. No mayonnaise unless you asked for it. Same with the egg. Mashed egg on the bread and the same salad veg. Probably not the beetroot on this one. Some places will mix a little mayonnaise through the mashed egg. Some will add curry powder. Then it’s curried egg. Lemonade isn’t the same either. Here it’s a clear carbonated drink with a hint of citric acid. No real lemons. Ask for lemon squash.
