Table Scrap Challenge

I'm going a little out of the box on this one! The challenge for November is trees and choice of color. I never got around to sewing a tree, but I had stitched one this week. I decided to make it into a little quilted ornament for the tree!  The tree is embroidered from a free pattern from Melissa.

I pulled this cute Christmas print from my new mystery box of fabric. I just sewed around and did the turn method. I hand stitched it closed. Then added some quilting stitches around the outer and inner part of the outline stitch. Some floss got added with a knot to give a hanging area. Perfect for the tree!

That is a cute little tree and I love how you finished it! I had to smile when you showed your backing fabric - I have that same one in green for the Christmas gift project I'm working on. It's a small world in quilting, isn't it?!

Every tree needs a handmade ornament. Good thinking, Deb!
