RSC ..... collections of blocks....

I have managed to finish off 2 quilts this year from my RSC sewing. Both should have arrived at their new homes in Vermont.

This one now lives with my sister Joanne.

This one should arrive today at my Mom's.

That leaves these collections of blocks that should be sewn together at some point. A couple are from previous years.

16 patches. These will probably be added to next year unless I need a quick quilt for something.

Birds in the air - this is half of them from the drawer. I have enough 6 inch blocks to make a 80x80 quilt.

crumb blocks.... some are 10 inches and some are 12 inches.

churn dash. I remember making one quilt out of these blocks already years ago.

The rest of the blocks that didn't go into the top quilt. I see I need to make a yellow one.

Em was laying them out.... seems she thinks I need to make more!

Sweet Confetti blocks.

Stashbuster blocks. The kids have since moved things around to a more 'pleasing' layout according to them!

Now this weekends job is to attempt to find some order in this mess of my sewing area! If you don't hear from me by Monday.... send in someone to find me! The kids have already been threatened if they even mention they are 'bored' next week I will dump out 3 large rubbermaid buckets of scraps for them to sort into colors.  I do believe they said they would keep themselves entertained! We will see.... They are off school next week for Thanksgiving break.

Saturday in Red......

Alas.... I have very little to show but I have high hopes for a little red sewing this afternoon!

The cat Emily and I were working on last weekend (found a panel while going through fabrics) is mostly finished. I got a wee bit stuck on the attaching the head gusset to the neck last weekend... but took a shot and managed to figure it out. We need to work on covering the ball with red and getting the hot glue gun out and then making the red bow and attaching it to her neck. Emily is still working on a name.

The sewing room is sadly still not fully cleaned but.... it is looking a little bit better. I convinced one kid to sort one of the 4 buckets (big Rubbermaid containers.....) into piles on Thursday. I didn't get a photo of that but there are 3 more to go ...... These are the reds from that bucket. The greens were the biggest pile in that bucket.

Sigh, I promised so here is  a before photo. We have a finished garage (was a model home and the 'garage' was their office space). Behind the wall is my working office.

An after folding the stash on the wall photo. I need to make a few more piles from the neutral/darks in the upper left hand corner but ran out of room. Still more to do... but it is a little progress. I have a floor again.... turns out it is a cream carpet! =). All the yarn had to get put into a bag and put up high... the cats kept eating it and I had colorful kitty litter scoops.

I only found a few projects I completely forgot about! I'm sure more will pop up as I continue going through the area and boxes of stuff.

Linking up with the RSC Challenge and hope to have some reds to show next week.

Progress..... on the sewing area

No tiny Tuesday again this week. But...... I have slat walls up and my shelves arrived last evening. I go to put them up but then had to take the kids to scouts.

I know what I am doing today....filling them up and maybe getting one more set of boards for the bottom left side after I have lunch with Emily. Those will all be fabric. The top will be my lighthouses and the second row will be storage. Still working it out but the wall is very flexible. I have hooks to put in to hang all my rulers and templates as well. Yesterday morning I went though boxes and condensed a bit and found a bunch of things! Now to find a new home for everything....in all this mess! (Before I started yesterday and some things landed in the kids playroom)

Hopefully there will be an after picture tomorrow! The couch is being moved out eventually but it needs to get uncovered first! See... I have lots of 'stuff'!
