I was able to finish sewing the rows together for the RSC Sampler quilt. I really like how it came out. I think it will stay like that and just get quilted into a snuggle size quilt with a dark brown or tan binding. Someday.... this pile of quilt tops is really getting out of control!
Then I started playing with the churn dash blocks. I split the blocks in half and have 6 each of my 12 colors in this quilt for the diagonal layout.
Plain layout with sashings....
I am leaning towards the diagonal layout with some white triangles around the edge to finish it off and then a scrappy rainbow binding. What do you think?
I just got back from lunch with Emily at school today. We spent all day yesterday in Orlando at the GI specialist to see about her tummy issues. Just have to take her for blood work tomorrow morning to check for Celiac (fingers crossed it is negative) and then schedule the lactose intolerance testing for January. I think I'll attempt to sweep and mop the floors quickly before starting to sew these churn dashes together. Think I can keep the cats from messing it up until I get it sewn together? Yea, me either! That is why I took the picture =) I hope I can find more time to sew this week but it is a busy one. Blood work tomorrow for Em and early release from school. Thursday is bowling in the morning for me and then I take the kids from school 15 minutes early for their dentist cleaning. Friday I have lunch with Aidan at school. Saturday morning is breakfast with Santa and then I get to go to work. Busy, busy at my house again!

I love how your colorful sampler turned out! Perfect snuggle size. Like both churn dash layouts. I would go with the second one. But that's me.
I hope little Em is well for Christmas.
Fantastic sampler!
Love the diagonal churns!
I really like the diagonal layout. It just seems more interesting to look at. The churn dashes look wonderful in the colours of the rainbow. It is going to be a gorgeous quilt!
Love the sampler just the way it is too! I saw Liz Porter use little churn dashes with a little alternate solid block that formed a zig zag down the quilt that was cool
Praying all is well with Emily. Love your sampler! Very cheery! The Churn Dash block is one of my favorites. Love the diagonal design even if it is a little more trouble. :)
Have a wonderful and Blessed day

It's a busy time at your house, too, isn't it? Hope you're able to get your churn dash top pieced together ... and I too prefer the diagonal setting. Praying for a negative on today's bloodwork.
I love your RSC Sampler! It just glows. I like the diagonal setting for the churn dashes. I hope you get a bit of sewing time in your busy week.
Awesome quilts. I like the diagonal layout.
Quilty talk says WOW! These are looking fab! Love your flimsy.. so fun! and I love the diagonal layout as well .. no sashing on the other :) You made great progress for a morning at home sans the littles! lol
Now about your schedule.. don't forget to savor EVERY MINUTE with your family and friends.. I am glad you are doing things for yourself too like bowling and quilting and using your God given creativity! Keep up the great work and know extra thoughts are headed your way this week from me :) I am a pediatric nurse... if you have any questions or problems please feel free to ask privately... I don't mind and my dd currently goes to Orlando as well to see drs :) Thanks for blogging when you can too! Kathi
Congratulations on a finished Rainbow Scrap Challenge Sampler! It is fabulous! I do love the diagonal setting for the churn dashes, whit would work for the setting triangles, but so would random bright colors. Hope your "to be quilted" pile doesn't topple over. Always a balancing act between piecing and quilting.
