Its a soup kind of day....

I decided it was a lentil soup in the crock pot day. That and leftovers will be dinner tonight (tourtiere with gravy and meatloaf were the last 2 nights meals!). The kids are back in school - with a few calls from school reminding kids to dress warm for the weather and they actually are letting it be an excused absence if you decide to keep your child home from the cold! It is in the 30's and cold and rainy and lows to 25 tonight. My kids are at school and will be all week!

On their last day of 'vacation' they each got a little sewing time in. Aidan got his parts sewn into rows.

Emily laid out her triangles for me to sew a few together. I should be able to add 2 rows this afternoon to her quilt before we head to gymnastics tonight with a new teacher. She loved Coach Emma but she has moved on and we will see who is reassigned to her class.

It is snowing in Tallahassee, Florida right now! Crazy weather.

only in Florida would it possibly be considered too cold to send your child to school - I suppose some might not have any kind of warm clothing to wear? that is possible I bet as an ex niece in law when moving to Florida got rid of all of her sweaters and socks saying she would not need them - then realized that hey she might actually need some now and then. I hope your kids will enjoy the day and enjoy snow if you get it.

Well, most people down here only have a light sweater for the cold. No winter coats, hat or mittens. The houses are also not built for cold, we are lucky to have an AC/Heater on our house to have heat in the winter. Some don't.

Their projects look great! If it was in the 30s here right now it would feel balmy :) Been waking up to anywhere from 1-5 degrees for a week now and not even hitting 20 in the afternoon.

Soup weather everywhere! :)

Things are looking good in your sewing room. :) We have been having low temps like -23C or -9F plus wind chill but then we are better prepared for this kind of weather. I love my snow tires...and my furnace!

I'm happy to see that you got some "kid sewing" done today. Here's hoping that Em likes her new gymnastics coach!!

Hunter was supposed to go back to school on the 2nd but they have canceled due to the cold. No school here tomorrow and probably not Friday as well. Fun times with the kids... :)

Just saw pictures of snow on palm trees. Crazy! Lentil soup is just the thing for a cold night. The quilts are starting to take shape and are looking good. Stay warm!
