Slow Stitching on Sunday....

I have plans to slow stitch..... after all the errands are run! I already did a trip to the girl scout store to pick up badges. Home for lunch (spinach salad with apples) and now I need to go get groceries.

Then... I promised to fix one opening on the boy's quilt top I found when I was rolling it onto the boards yesterday. That will allow us to roll it and get it pinned for quilting. If I still have patience, I might let him quilt it today.

After all that.... I plan to sit and relax in my recliner and work on some hand stitching of flying geese for my second Block #3 of the Hand Pieced Quilt Along..... Here is the first with all the parts for the second block all prepped and ready to go!

Then I'll work on the yellow umbrella that I never got to last week. You will notice the small piece of brown... yes, that is what I cut on the day I planned to work on it in the car line. It was a wee bit small and so that plan got delayed. It will get made tonight... who knows, I might even pull the next fabrics and get that one done too!

Linking up with the other Slow Stitchers over at Kathy's Quilts.

Nice job on your hand stitching of the blocks. My first and still unfinished quilt was all by hand. I thought I would join the SAL and just haven't done it yet. I still plan to do it. Three of us widows are very good friends and are known as "The Triplets" at the widow meeting at church. I'm the only one of us who actually attends the church. We each have a different favorite color. I thought it would be fun to use the favorite color and probably white and make a two tone quilt for each of us. I might one red/white/blue. She used to do USO shows and has been to 82 countries and loves that combo. Her birhday is in March, so I don't think it would be done and I could still give it to her for Christmas. At the rate I'm going, I might have it done by then. LOL I read some more of your posts and learned that you also knit. About all I knit is dishcloths. I get bored with just stockinette stitch and can get frustrated with complex patterns. I don't like seams either, so dishcloths are perfect. The gals love them also. I use some of the stitch patterns I find on the net/pinterest as well as dishcloth patterns per se. Thanks for posting and being an encouragement to me.
