Today.... will be a sewing machine day. Aidan has requested to work more on making his apron and Emily wants to make masks. I made my first one this morning for Greg to take to work with him. As of Monday they have to wear them at the store. The one they provided him yesterday lasted 5 minutes. Too hot to breathe with. I sent him in with this bat fabric mask (because he let me have a sense of humor!) Not bad for a first try. I found single fold bias binding 1/2 inch in a box that was light green and made it work. Must find my green bias binding maker... I think it is hiding with the herra marker that is still missing. They must be having a party together! This was a free pattern from bluprint I downloaded this morning.
When it is time to settle in to relax, I will probably grab Emily's crochet blanket and add some rows to it. I am on a new skien of yarn this week for it. I think there are 2 more skiens to go.
This is my storage for it.... since I have 2 cats that love to eat yarn!
I did hand stitch this 9 inch block this week for the Ella Maria Deacon Quilt along. Lets just say I am happy it is done and I have lost the interest in making a 60 degree diamond block quilt for a while!
Linking up with the other Slow Sunday stitchers over at Kathy'squilts.

It is a really pretty star but I can understand your loss of interest!
good job storing the afghan in progress in a tin - the cat can't get that for sure. It must be hot wearing a mask all day - I imagine different workers need to run off and hide for five minutes now and then so they are near no one and take the mask off and wipe the sweat off and breath! My sister wears one almost all night long when at work at the assisted living center - at first she only had to when doing procedures on some of the people that live there - it is assisted living so they all have their own apartments but a nurse is on duty which she is and aides to help - but now they wear them the whole shift.
sorry Emily will miss her 5th grade graduation, but yes better to be safe - I wonder what they will do for high school graduations? skip it entirely or try to do something were it is safe
Great place to hide your blanket from the cat. That EMD block I had to do 3 times before I could get it right. I machine stitched it twice, and finally EPP'd it. Great work!
Here's hoping the mask you made for Greg works better than the one the store provided!!! Do you have 4 more in the works? A mask for every day of the week will save on having to wash the one every day.
Love that Bat man-mask (oh, not Batman--hahaha) the fabric ones are much easier to breath through--I hate how my glasses keep fogging up though...We are under State mandated mask wearing while out as of tomorrow too..
Enjoy the group sew-in...

I find the masks are hot to wear, just going into a store for 20 minutes! I can't imagine wearing one to work in all day. I really do appreciate it when the store workers are wearing them! Love your hiding place for the crochet project!
Masks are hot. I find that using a batik for the inside/lining helps some. I feel for the people that have to wear them all day. Sorry for Emily. So many kids are missing their important school functions and events. It's a very different time for all of us. ~Jeanne
Gosh, that block does look tricky, but you have managed to do a beautiful job in piecing it together so beautifully. I too don't know how people wear masks all day long. Strange times we are living in.
I love the photo of your blanket project in the large can... great storage idea to keep the cats away!
