Tuesday...

I took the advise given on the needles ....couldn't find topstitching ones at Joann's so picked up 'quilting' 90's. Hopefully they will work... of course I think I was 'pulling' a little too much on the fabric. I'll have to give it a try while Aidan is napping tomorrow... I am wide awake tonight but can't sew since it might wake up DH. I had my bowling banquet tonight with the girls and we went out for a nice dinner. Of course, I ate way too much (prime rib and scallops, yummy) and had desert.... a Chocolate Sin Cake. Which explains why I am wide awake at 10:30 at night. Caffeine overload! Oh well, just waiting for Aidan's midnight feeding and then maybe I will be able to get some sleep after that. So that leaves a good hour.. think I will go up and cut up some fabrics and examine the charity quilt I picked up at the last guild meeting to see what the pattern is.

Thanks for the comment on my blog. Good luck with the machine quilting and finding the right needles. I have done a little of it and I think it is harder than it looks. Mostly I do straight lines that outline some of the piecing. I've tried a little free motion but am not comfortable with it yet. I have almost finished a wall hanging that I am machine quilting with curvy lines, but I am using the walking foot with it. It is the Falling Leaves quilt that is shown on my Webshots album - http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/photo/2742037830101299792cebxfI and the two shots after that. I used a variegated thread - maybe a Mettler rayon thread but not sure about that. I have just a bit more to do on the border, then make a sleeve and bind.

It can't be easy for you to find time to quilt with new baby, so I know you treasure those little times when you can do something for yourself.

Have a great rest of the week.

Oh prime rib....haven't had that in eons and just the thought of it is making my mouth water! I'm a SAHM too--when you're writing about doing laundry and picking up and such while working around kid stuff I can really relate!

Oh the prime rib sounds good! I had some really good PR on Paul's birthday. It's one of our favorite foods.
