RSC Saturday in medium blue...

I finally got to play with some fabrics and the sewing machine this morning! How I counted wrong and got 11 instead of 12 BITA blocks..... no clue. Oh well, I'll add it into the remaining 6 I need in medium blues that I'll do later this afternoon.
I think I'll work on the dark blues for next Saturday and lights on the last Saturday. Thank goodness we have that extra Saturday this month.

I have my 7 rows of the appliqué blocks put together and started the sashing rows..... I went with yellow since I did not have a blue in my stash that would work well as a cornerstone. I think I like it.

Head on over and see what the other Rainbow Scrappers are working on this year.

Love those Birds in the Air blocks Deb, and the yellow cornerstones are just right in the appliqué quilt.

Of course, I love the Birds in the Air blocks, but that appliqué quilt is going to be spectacular.

Thanks! They are addictive.... as this is my second quilt of them. So fun to make with the RSC and it turns out great (or at least I think so based on my first quilt with them!).

The blue and yellow combination is a winner. More beautiful BITA. Love them!

Both sets of blocks are beautiful! I love the Birds in the Air blocks especially. Just noticed the quilt in your top photo is a rainbow birds in the air! That one is gorgeous!

Lovely birds in the air; a great idea to make that block this year.

BITA is a block I considered for RSC this year, but decided not to go with. Though seeing yours, I'm back to thinking about putting it on the list. It's only January, right? 8)
The applique blocks are wonderful, too. The yellow cobblestones work really well with the yellow framed blocks.

Slowly but surely, your applique blocks are coming together. Great start on the birds. Maybe the extra one just flew away?

Much as I love Birds in the Air, especially those luscious blues of yours, I have to say your appliqué is going together beautifully.

I've done a quilt with the blocks in your first picture. In fact, we raffled it off at church at a fundraiser. I didn't know about squaring up when I made all those half square triangles so it was a challenge. I should make another one with the squares actually squared up.
