After a lazy start (ok, I finally took a shower and got dressed around 10:30!), I wandered into the sewing room to see what it looked like! 8 dark green blocks lined up ready to sew on the sewing table. Ok, those got sewn together.
All of them so far this year! Each set of 4 makes a 12 inch finished block.
Angela let us know pink was the color for June. I think she is going to make me wait until October for Purple! I pulled the pinks from the wall. (must empty a bucket or two and find pink scraps).
I had one grey 2 inch square left over from last month so made one cobblestone block.
I am busy pressing and cutting strips in 2.5 and 2 inches since I seem to have NONE in the pull out drawer in pink. Well, I didn't check the 2.5 but nothing in the 2 inch section. Hopefully I'll have more completed pink blocks by the end of the day.
Some reading, some quilting, some piecing by hand and machine will happen today. I think a rematch in scrabble is on tap as well. Lets hope I can get those high numbers and find a good place to play them.
Linking up with the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.
On a side note - how come soup tastes better with toppings? I am fairly new to adding toppings to my soups but boy, do they sure raise the taste. This is lunch - leftover chicken enchilada soup topped with avacado, lime juice, cilantro and sharp cheddar cheese. Oh so yummy!

Those star and 9 patch blocks look wonderful together, Deb! The pink blocks are going to be a fun addition to the mix. Your chicken enchilada soup looks delicious - I love cheese and avocado on my soup recipe that is similar to that.
My husband always adds process cheese slices to my soups saying it makes it taste better. I respond with but the soup tastes fine as it is. He says but it tastes so much better with cheese so I have to nag and say are you saying my soup does not taste good? But he says, it tastes good but it is better with cheese. I still love him after nearly 49 years. Today I am making a very, very large crockpot of chili. Not 3 alarm stuff, but clean. He will add cheese. Probably grated cheddar.
That soup looks AMAZING!!! Your PINK blocks for the RSC aren't bad, either. :P
love the stars and patches!! reminds me so much of the one I made that was such a good scrappy pattern to use
Your star blocks look wonderful, are you thinking of mixing the colours up when you assemble the blocks? And there is nothing nicer than home made soup, so tasty and comforting.
Oooah those soup additions sound fabulous--i haven't tried doing that
yet.
Your dark green blocks and stars look great with the other colors--I haven't even pulled out pinks as yet--just not feeling it lately...
