Slow stitching Sunday....

Today will be a prep work day and a day of quilting for me. That should give me some binding to work on later this evening.
This is the quilt that will get pinned and quilted today. The binding is all set and waiting to be attached when I am done.

Then I need to prep some more of my orange peel's for the week. I have finished the 14 that I prepped a couple of weeks ago and need some more for the hand work bag. I am using silk thread for this and love it so far. It is so fine the the stitches just disappear. I have a light and dark color for blending and should be able to get through the year with these two colors of silk thread.

Head on over to Quilter Kathy and see what others are working on this slow stitch Sunday.

Silk thread is AWESOME for handwork. Worth every penny ~ and your orange peel blocks are looking good.

I am loving that orange peel idea! Once you have everything organized, it's the perfect take-along project. And it might get me to like hand applique.
Great tip on the silk thread!
Thanks for linking up to Slow Sunday Stitching Deb!

I haven't done hand applique in decades. And I never used silk. But I'm tempted. They looks so interesting.

THe pink quilt is looking great. Enjoy the quilting. Great work on the orange peels too. It is so nice to have handwork prepped and ready to go.

I love orange peel quilts. If I ever get up the nerve to do some applique that is one I will do. And thanks for the tip on silk thread. I use it in crazy quilting but never thought of it for applique.

Glad to hear you like the silk thread. I tried it and hated it, so we each need to find what works for us. What a fun take along project for some slow stitching.

I'm loving your orange peels! That's a really nice project to have to carry around with you and whip out when you are waiting somewhere. And a great way to use up little scraps and make something beautiful out of them :*)
