Ok, so instead of working on the backing for B&C quilt from last post I decided to finish the last 8 blocks for the wonky log cabin since they were half way done. I now have a 6x6 setting which should be about 72x72 when I sew them all together. I like the layout like this. The question - would it look strange if I just add a blue border around all the sides to get it to the size I want? Maybe a cream/tan and then a plain blue border? Thoughts?
I found 2 yards of these two fabrics in the closet.
A medium light with flowery prints on it.
The firecracker print with medium bright blue and fireworks in white and red and silver. I think I like this one better...... Hmmmmm

It'll look great with a border. I like the second (darker) border with the cream inner border. If needed, the inner border could be scrappy. You are really getting things done! ~Jeanne
I would go with the second blue and the cream inner border.n
Your log cabin blocks look great together. I like the 2nd blue border fabric best.
I've never added a border to the log cabin quilts I've made (not sure why not). But I like the second blue with the cream inner border - a lot.
I really like the second border.
I like the second brighter one
Very pretty. I really like the brighter firework border. I like it better without the cream border but if you need an inner border for size, maybe something a little darker than the cream would separate from the cream part of the log cabins to look more like a frame. Whatever you decide, the finished quilt is going to be wonderful! Those blue log cabins are just so rich!
I vote for the second one too!
They are both nice but I think I like the second, brighter one better. And I think the cream inner border would look nice, too. I really like those blocks.
I vote for the second one too.

I added 2 borders to the log cabin quilt I made many years ago and it looks great! Go ahead and add the blue.
