RSC in brown.....

I started off my Monday with a Kick! A kick sampler block that is.

I also cut out a bunch of 2.5 inch squares for my twinkle star block and made up another 16 patch while I was sewing. That gives me three in brown.

That leaves the Dresden... which I managed to put together on Wednesday afternoon while the kids were playing school in the play room! I have 13 of these now... so I pulled out paper and pencil and drew up a setting. I think it will be on point and I just need 13 so this one is 'done'. Just need to calculate the yardage needed for the background (2.5 yards includes wiggle room) and see how big I want this one. Do I go with cream or white? Hmmmm We'll have to see what is on sale in the next few weeks. Thank goodness a birthday is coming up and there should be some birthday $...

This was the sunrise as I was going home from dropping the kids to school on Thursday.

Head on over and check out the RSC Challenge blocks on Saturday morning.

Beautiful sunset ... but then I'm partial to sunrises and sunsets (particularly over water). I can't wait to see your Dresdens put together ... on point would be a fabulous setting! My Labor Day Stars is set on point, and believe it or not, it's the first time I've ever made a quilt with the blocks set on point ... not because I don't like that setting but because the prospect of trying to calculate how big to make the setting triangles is just way, way too intimidating! :-o In spite of my less than accurate cutting and piecing, my setting triangles seem to be working out perfectly.

Congratulations on getting the Dresden's done. It is so much fun to start to see all the year long projects coming together. Hope they have some great sale fabrics. Last time I was in Joann's I used the app for a coupon, and the clerk had me pull up retailmenot on my phone for even more discounts. It was quite a savings in the end.

Your brown 16 patches and twinkler are wonderful - as are the dresden. Sunrises here have been great this week - turned chilly now so we'll see how that affects the early morning look.

Lovely brown blocks. They look good together like that. Is that your layout choice: four blocks, one of which has a white star? It's really striking.

The two showcased projects are great. I'm looking forward to seeing what you decide on for the Dresden Plates. The plaids in the 16 patch add so much to the design in brown.

Your dresdens are quite fine. The finished quilt should be amazing.
