RSC in Blue

I have been working on adding a sashing strip to these old churn dash blocks. There are around 70 of them if I remember correctly. The pile at the bottom is a lot smaller than when I started!

I have the first 9 Hexagon QAYG completed and need to cut out more backing fabrics for the next set and prep them for stitching.

This is the back. I decided to use some blue quilting thread on these and I love how it shows on the back. I think I will try and add some color on the back of some to add some fun for the back of the quilt when they are stitched together.

I made a yellow stars and nine so I could sew these remaining blocks together for a quilt top this week. Just a simple nine patch and friendship star using 2.5 inch squares. So simple but so fun! This top is 36x48.

A little quilting has been added to the basket table topper.

With a rainy day day tomorrow, I hope to get a lot of sewing in on my blue block collections.
Linking up with the RSC on Saturday.

Pretty RSC finish. Good idea to match 9patch blocks with the Friendship Stars.

I love how your rainbow star quilt has turned out. It's so happy and cheerful it's just what you need to look at in these troubled times.

You are getting a lot done on your projects;))). I am still sewing mini charms--I had no idea that I had collected so MANY--and a lot were leftovers from the Postage Stamp Swap I joined a few years back!! Mostly sewing them into 4-patches...
Your blue hexies are really pretty--nice idea to quilt them with blue thread...when all together the back may have a nice rainbow quilting look;)))
Have a great weekend Hugs, Juierose

All are nice projects and all look like you are making some progress on them and that is really what counts--
I like the color blue and wanted more in my stash and did an online order and it came in quickly--only--I am not really crazy about most of them--they did look different on line-more bluer I guess--most of these look a bit washed out blue--but they will be yo-yo's for that quilt--luckily I only got quarter yards--I also got a couple new prints for some new masks--that's kinda first on my sewing list--the pretty flamingo ones I made a year ago--are getting really 'rough' looking!!!
have fun sewing and petting chickens!!!! luv, di

Looks like you made progress on lots of things this week, Deb! Your hexies in light blue are really pretty, and love the stars and nines quilt top, too. Those churn dashes are going to make a great quilt! Hope you're having a good weekend!

You have been busy, I particularly love those stars and nines block, although I'm sure I've said that before! 70 churn dash blocks? Thats an awful lot of blocks. You obviously made these for a project, have they been forgotten for a while.

You can't beat the classics and your churn dash blocks prove that. The Stars & Nines will certainly make some little child feel very special. It's so colorful and bright.
