RSC in Red...

I got some quality sewing time in on Friday. I had the kids with me out doing some weeding this morning since we were finally home in the morning before it got too hot. We were out weeding while the AC guy was here doing the semi annual cleaning. After 1.5 hours... I was done and it was starting to get hot. We moved inside and the kids started working on some chores so I could get some 'Mommy' time. Aidan is handling the laundry and Emily was loading the dish washer.
I got to finish sewing the two RSC Sampler blocks! Two lantern versions this month.

I also sewed my rows together for the tumbler flag quilt. I am not happy with it - It needs at least four more blues (8 total across) and a four more columns on the other side I think. Now to figure out how to add those nicely......

I also caved and started a Trip Around the World block in maroons this week. I have the next two rounds cut but need to mark the sewing lines on the second one. Lots of red progress this week.

Head on over on Saturday morning to see what the other RSC Challenge participants are up to. As for me... I'll be heading into work but will check in as time allows.

So nice of the kids to help with the chores so you could get in a bit of sewing time. The house gets so much dirtier with kids in it all day long. Great progress on your reds. Looking great!

Lots of progress this week ... unlike me. I haven't picked up a needle and thread yet this week, although as soon as I get done here, I certainly plan to get in some stitching.

It's encouraging to read that the kidlets are doing chores. You certainly sewed up a storm.

Oh I wish my weeding was "finished" in 1.5 hours! We have a large front area planted out with garden and it takes a gardener about 3 days to get it cleared and trimmed properly. We do that twice a year, and then try to keep it under control the rest of the time, but it often gets the better of us.

That flag tumbler project will be impressive when you figure out how to make it bigger. Good luck with that!

Great job on the lantern blocks and the trip around the world. What an interesting flag quilt those tumblers will make!

Oh, I have no weeding kids anymore...they have all grown up.

What a unique tumbler quilt. And I really like that maroon trip.
