My goal for January was to make one hexagon quilt as you go a day. I decided to make one per day this year and coordinate it with the rainbow scrap challenge where you play with one color of scraps each month. January was pink so here are 31 pink hexagons! I am going to wait to put these together but will probably mix all the colors up at that point. February will be yellow, so I need to see if I can find 28 different yellows in the scrap bins and stash to play with. Linking up with the OMG Challenge for January. I was lucky enough to win a gift certificate from Fat Quarter Shop in December and decided to reward myself with a bundle of butter churn basics from Kim Diehl. I have been looking at this bundle for a while and figured I needed neutrals and it was the perfect opportunity to pick it up. Service was fast and I love the new fabrics.

Slow Sunday and a completed OMG goal!
I also started a new block this week in pink - Erins Butterfly is the pattern from Grandmothers Scrap Bag book. Page 34.
I need to hand stitch that curve, then hand applique it to the background and add the body and some embroidered antennae.
I think I am done making the Endless Diamond blocks (those flowering snowballs are so much easier to hand piece!) so I will start hand piecing those 20 blocks together to make a quilt top here and there when I have time this week as well.

the stars look so good but I can see calling an end to it also. I hope you have enough yellow for your hexies - I am finding I do not have as much yellow as I thought I had
Congratulations!@ I won the Fat Quarter gift certificate twice. You m just be insanely fast at your hand piecing. You have so many blocks done. I really like your Endless Diamonds.
OMG for the WIN, Deb!! :o))
That's a pretty grouping of pink hexagons! Great job achieving your goal for January! It will be fun to see your collection grow with more colors. The Endless Diamonds are going to make a gorgeous quilt. Are you going to sew the blocks together by hand?
Loving those 31 hexies--wonderful--;)))
I am getting a bit weary from making those logs with cornerstones--ya think? I have 14 out of the 1st 30 (60 total--what WAS I thinking??) done now.
The 2nd set will be a regular courthouse steps--no little squares!!
My last Butterfly is almost done--then I will start my own hexagon project...can't wait..also sort of tired of x-stitches!! But hanging in there...
Hugs from waiting for the snow to fall Julierose
A hexie a day--good goal--
I probably did 30 some yo-yo's(need to count--but I know I did alot of them--but some where double on the fabrics--but not all) now on to yellow--
I also decided on another pink project--though it is not totally finished--and I really want to do at least one more color of the month project--think I found that today--
but it won't get done for a couple days--!!!
Do you like this year's hand piecing project???
I can't say I am 'thrilled' with it--but--but may still try it?????
have a great day--luv, di
Love all your pretty pink hexies. I don't know if I would be able to find 28 yellow fabrics for February. Erin's Butterfly is pretty and as for your Endless Diamonds, this is going to be a stunning quilt when all stitched together.
Lots of beautiful things to see here, and a goal met, too. I do like the endless blocks together. That butterfly is a lot of work, but it will be so nice to have one.
Congrats on meeting the goal!! Love those little pink Hexies - what fun those will be to play with when you have all the colors! and the butterfly - cool block!
All your projects are lovely! Congratulations on meeting your goal! Great work!
The hexagons look so cute all placed together!
Can't wait to see how you wrap up the Endless Diamond blocks - they will look stunning!
Nice! Thanks for linking up with Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal and congrats on your finish!
