First Saturday in Brown...

I have been working on a few things this week but in between I got my 16 patch block in brown and creams done.

I have also been working on getting a quilt top out of some RSC blocks from last year's challenge. I am calling this quilt  'Hugs and Kisses'  and have been working on making my borders fit this week. I had to redo some of the seams in the peel border to shrink up 1.5 inches and it worked perfectly! I have the top and bottom attached. I needed eight more for the sides and those are prepped for hand work and should be done by the end of the weekend. I can't wait to see how it comes out but I love it so far!

I also challenged myself to make a block a day this month from 'The Civil War Love Letter Quilt'. I have been making one a week since January which I post on Tuesdays. I want to start something new next year (appliqué midget blocks?) but wanted enough blocks to make a nice size quilt so I figured I'd add 31 blocks to my pile this month. I am doing them in maroon, blue and cream colors. Today I made a block called 'A Better Correspondent'. There are 36 half square triangles finishing at 1 inch each in this 6 inch block.  I am very happy to have this one done!

I'm linking up with SoScrappy on Saturday for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. Head on over and see what other blocks are being created in dark brown, black and grey this month.

Oh my, those teeny, tiny little HSTs! Gorgeous! I'll bet you're happy to have that done!

Your Hugs and Kisses is looking good! I think that inner border is really allowing the border to shine without overpowering the blocks.

So many tiny HST blocks! The all came together beautifully though. The addition of the calming border to your orange peels is just right. What a great quilt those have come together to make.

Love the prints in your 16 patch blocks. I'm addicted to 16 patch blocks. Make them all the time.

I hope my brown wonky star turns out as good. I dug deep and found some charm squares that are pretty crazy but I will stick to using what I have! You have been making some great blocks!
