Slow Sunday

After a rainy and thunderstorm day yesterday, progress was made as I stitched a bit. Half of the snowflake is appliqued down (the left side!) and hopefully the right side will get done today. I need 3 of these to replace paper pieced snowflakes in a quilt I am working on this month. I don't remember seeing white for them in the pile for this quilt.... so that might make things interesting. I seem to be running out of white on white prints....

I also added some 'rain' to the umbrellas. I drew the lines on the left hand side yesterday as the right hand side was all quilted.

Joining Kathy and the other Slow Stitchers today. What will you be stitching today?

Lots of ins and outs on your appliqued snowflake! I bet it will make a pretty design when all stitched down. Having just finished one paper-pieced 12 inch block that required 13 separate sections, I can only imagine what those snowflakes would require! :) I like the lines of raindrops on your umbrella quilt, too. Have a fun Sunday, Deb!

the snow flake is a lot of work but all those epp papers would have been too.
The umbrella quilt is coming along nicely

Great projects. Love the umbrella ones. Would love to have your rain. We have had 2 straight weeks with days in the 100+ range. We are now cooler, into the 90's, but no rain in sight! Happy stitching!

Rain looks super on the umbrellas;))
Are you needleturning those fancy snowflakes? (Better you than me, I canNOT do needleturn it seems...lots of tries and epic fails...)
I either prep the seams with starch method or just do raw edge machine work...
Those flakes will be lovely...

Your umbrella quilt is so nice, I remember you blogging about the blocks during earlier RSC link parties. Such an original way to feature each colour.
