The kids are heading to Grandma's for the day. I hear I get to add fencing to some panels for the chicken coop and finish filling in the dirt underneath. I see some slow stitching with a movie later today!
The middle of the umbrella quilt is finished so it is time to mark and stitch the setting triangles. Who knows, maybe a binding will get made and attached this week as well? This was my freehand attempt. I'll get the ruler out to mark the others.

Kathy and the other Slow Stitchers.
I keep telling myself I need to actually finish a few things before starting something new..... like a hand pieced flowering snowball quilt from scraps or finally trying a block I drafted years ago from scraps..... something new might pop up next week, we will see.

such cute umbrellas. What a lovely pattern!
Yes, well you can see how well that "no new projects" worked for me this week hahaha
Good progress on the umbrellas--your stitching looks grand;)))
Dewpoint 76 here already at 9 a.m.--in the AC today for sure...
Take care, stay cool and safe Julierose
Great progress on your umbrella quilt - it won't be long now! Starting something new is always fun to think about - especially if you have a little extra time. Sometimes i get an idea and just have to try it! I like the looks of your block drawing!
really good progress - I hope grandma is being careful with her health and no running around a lot. have fun on the chicken coop
The umbrella quilting is going so fast!
Hope you enjoy some movie and stitching time today!
Thanks for linking up to Slow Sunday Stitching!
Your umbrella quilting is perfect for that quilt. Love it. I too love starting new projects and can't resist. Eventually I finish one now and then. LOL.
Love seeing your umbrella quilting. I am probably going to start a couple of new projects soon, and I really shouldn't LOL!
I would DEFINITELY have to get out the ruler, too! (Either that or mark it with masking tape - my marking of choice back when I hand quilted.) Funny you should finally piece your Emma block, Deb! I just ordered a pattern and template set for the Flowering Snowball this morning. (Enabled by LeeAnna @ Not Afraid of Color.) Looking forward to seeing that self-designed block be transformed into a fabric quilt block!
I rarely freehand either Deb... I love marking and stitching on the marked line... hopefully I can see the marks! lol That is the struggle sometimes!
Your umbrellas make a great header... I like your new blog designs too... bubbles are FUN!
I like your flowering snowball and your drafted blocks... hope the fencing gets started and lots of slow stitching gets done for ya! :)
Kathi
I love the umbrella quilt. Those other blocks look interesting.
