Sunday slow stitching

Time change.... everyone is sleeping in but since the cats did not get the memo, Sophie was meowing right on schedule. Early! While I was up I fed all 3 cats, let the chickens out of the coop into the run and refilled their oyster shells and put some food down so everyone could eat without fighting.  Coffee perking was the next on the list.  After checking a few websites and checking out the local news... it was time to stitch a hexagon for the day. March is darker green. First - I stitch down the folded over 'binding'.

Then I quilt it following along the edges.

Before long there is a completed Hexagon quilt as you go block ready to add to the pile.

I will finish up quilting the last block - number 18 on my Hand Pieced Quilt Along quilt from 2019. I'll go back and add 3 lines to the sashing and then I'll figure out what to put in the side triangles. They are not very big - but I'm thinking maybe hearts? Still time to decide.

Interesting technique. How big are your hexagons?

My ruler set has them finishing at 2 inches for each edge. The bigger hexagon that is folded down for the binding is 3 inches finished edge.

I woke up early then fell back to sleep and then got up almost 11 here and of course doesn't feel like. I understand the time change back in the age of more farmers wanting it because of lighting and what not, but now it doesn't make all that much sense I wish they would stop it.

What a lovely start to your day, Deb! Hoping for more stitching time later in the day.

At least you remembered to set your clocks forward. I went to get my husband up and he asked why his iPad time was an hour more than the clock in front of him!

Time change in the Spring always makes for a weird sleeping day! Tree branches falling on the roof due to our snow woke me up early. You're doing such a great job keeping up with one hexie a day! They're going to make a really fun quilt!

As long as there is coffee to help open the eyes. =) It is always the same ol' same ol' with animals, isn't it. QAYG hexies are always a fabulous way to make hexies and your block is looking lovely.

Our daylight saving time is almost ready to change too, but going the other way than you now we are in Autumn.

Love your hexi. It reminded me that years ago one of the dear ladies in our quilting guild taught us how to do this and I made some coasters. Thank you for reminding me about this project. I remember it being a lot of fun and easy.

Love the Hexagon project and your hand quilting is coming along quickly! I hope that Texas gets out of DST - we vote on it in November!!! Hugs
