Someone stop me! I started the purple Pineapple Blossom quilt on Saturday and today I started another new quilt - a very scrappy free form log cabin from
Mary's blog.
So far I have 4 of the pineapple blocks that I shared a picture of on Saturday
here. Today - I worked on 4 of these blocks with each of them measuring 12.5 inches.
I have had this one in my head for a couple of weeks and it has a deadline of mid August to be completed. The middle will always be a red fabric. Think I can make it doing 3-4 blocks a day and a Grandma day to quilt it sometime in July? If not, I will ship out the Green and Cream Jacobs Ladder quilt for a wedding present. If this one gets completed, it will be sent instead. I did have a helper while doing this - he was designing his own center portion and I did have to sew some pieces together. He also selected some of the strips for me as I sewed out of the pile of rubbermaid strips and scraps that got dumped into the middle of the floor. I think I'll leave it there for a bit and just close off that door when I am not in there!
It does look like a bomb went off in there doesn't it?

It does look like a bomb went off, but it is a happy fabric bomb. Hard to beat that. It isn't bad to start new projects, as long as you are finishing some too. Since you just had a finish, a start or two just keeps things in balance.
LOL! That looks like my sewing area! Of course you know that I love the log cabin block, it is one of my favorites of all time!
Good luck getting it done, they do seem to go pretty fast.

Nice log cabin blocks. I've been looking at that pattern, too.
Loved the purple pineapple blossom blocks. I'm tempted to do that block in a rainbow challenge next year.
I see no problem in having a few projects going at the same time. If you get tired of one, move to another and then back later :D
I love the picture - it all looks just perfect to me! I have a log cabin underway as well and I have just committed to making another quilt for a friend - yikes - what am I thinking!!
Love your free for all scrappy look! :)
