Sunday

Today the kids are planning on heading to Grandma's for the day. A whole day of peace and quiet.... to play with fabrics! I plan to get a little machine quilting in on this quilt - that did get pinned yesterday afternoon.

I'll put some stitches in the third Endless Diamond block.

A few episodes of NCIS will get watched/listened to while I add some stitches to the cat and mouse quilt on the frame. I got to roll the frame and start a new section this week!

Saturday night dinner.... last Saturday I did a traditional one that I grew up with - baked beans and hot dogs. Technically.... not the same since I did not make the baked beans from scratch like Mom always did. I just opened a can of Bushs' baked beans.

This week hubby mentioned a couple of meals we had not made in a while. I had to go out to the grocery store anyway (we won't discuss that I needed AAA batteries - the whole point of going out - do you think I have any in my house right now? Nope.... completely forgot them at the TOP OF THE LIST!). Anyway... he mentioned taco's and chinese stir fry. Last time I did a Moo Goo Gai Pan and a beef one. I asked which he preferred - the beef one - Beef with Broccoli. Hmmm. Em and I like Moo Goo so I got what I needed for both. There was plenty left so I am set for meals on Sunday and probably Monday lunch. No time wasted on cooking today! Just stitching time.

Linking up with Slow Sunday Stitching as there will be a bit of it in my future today. Must go get my walk in before the temps get crazy hot!

I made a chicken sheet pan dinner that you had linked to the recipe for I think last week with potatoes - it said asparagus but it is not appreciated in this house so I did fresh green beans with it a couple days ago. I think I need to make Chinese - I like chicken cashew and I do think I have all I need for it.
those blocks are interesting and I will like to see that one when it is a whole top!

I love all the projects you have going in your quilty life... I hate it when i miss an obvious item at the store but at least you had other stuff to go for too <3 Have a wonderful Sunday and enjoy the leftovers from last night too!

I love how the Endless Diamond blocks give you more diamonds when they line up. The Beef and Broccoli sounds delicious. I haven't made it in a while. Thanks for the idea. I hope you truly enjoy your day of stitching. All those projects are fantastic.

Your Squared Away quilt is looking so nice and smooth there, ready for pin basting! Do you always do your basting on the carpet like that? I'm still struggling to find the perfect place and method for basting a bigger quilt. Love those new hand-pieced blocks and having dinner already figured out really sounds good! Enjoy your Sunday, Deb!

Glad I'm not the only one who forgets the MAIN REASON that I went to the store! Is that your 2018 RSC Squared Away Sampler, Deb? SEW glad you got it basted yesterday. Good luck with the quilting today!

We finally got our power back yesterday...I am not fond of camping out here...now to find some kind of mojo to begin sewing once again...

It's so good to have a couple of meals ready to go. Your quilt top looks fabulous - so bright and cheery. Please stop showing the Endless Diamonds because I want to make them and I don't need any new projects right now. If I had a dollar for every time I've come home from shopping and not bought the thing I really needed, I could probably have bought a fancy long arm quilting machine. Hmmm...

Do not feel alone - I have done the same with the grocery list! Hugs
