Slow stitching Sunday....

I have been working away at hand stitching this set of 12 Hexagon groups together this week. The groups of 4 became groups of eight with 3 sides to hand stitch. Then they became columns of 16 with 3 sides to stitch. Now it is time to do the long attaching with 15 sides to stitch together! As soon as I set these down on the floor for a photo Peanut needed to inspect them. I moved him off for the second photo.

The black line indicates the next line of stitching.  You can read more about my Quilt As You Go Hexagons here.

Back during the December Sales with Accuquilt I picked up these two on a buy one get one 99% off. They were similar in price. I figured those shapes would help me finish up the applique border on the midget applique quilt that has been stalled for a while. Who doesn't love a playful butterfly, dragon fly or bumblebee? Those might be used in my placemats this year as well.

Quilt as you go hexies are a popular hand stitching project these days! I have not tried them yet. Your project is growing! Love the bright colours.

Your hexies are looking great. I am sure you will enjoy stitching one long seam. That would be very satisfying to me. I like those cutouts. They should make nice appliques for you quilt.

Hi,
Beautiful Hexies, I love scrappy quilts. I have a
Bob, a mixed lab and mastiff, who walks on my quilts
when on the floor. And he usually leaves a muddy
paw print, thank goodness it washed out. Have a
great day!

Those are looking so pretty together - happy stitching! Your new dies for the cutter will be handy, too. I'm thinking of doing some vines, leaves, flowers on my crumb heart borders like what you're doing on the midget quilt. I'm a little leery of that much applique, though - it's not my strongest skill, lol!

Your Hexie quilt is growing--a pretty flower garden with all those pretty hexies!! (I need to get back to sewing my yoyo's together--stopped cause have been busy embroidering a large snowman each week--have 2 more weeks to go on that one!) I went down this morning and knitted outside a little while and it was really nice out--!!
Thanks for the comment--for whatever reason my comments are not coming into my email--even though I check the button each time I do a post--What?????
hugs, di

Hi Deb, those hexies are coming along well - and you won't have to quilt them afterwards. Sounds like a great project. Take care.

Love seeing your hexies come along. I haven't seen those dies from Accuquilt yet, but I didn't pay much attention to the sales, as I was busy getting gifts done for Christmas. I think I may need to get those! Hope you have a great week!
