Slow Stitching Sunday....

The only thing I have planned today is taking Emily to horses at noon. It looks like a rainy day so hopefully the thunder storms don't happen during her planned riding time. They don't ride if it is too loud and they can't hear the instructor with the rain pelting on the roof.... and the thunder could spook the horses so they don't ride if it is close.

The internet just came online - seems there was a countrywide centurylink outage this morning. The kids were going nuts - seems the internet is used for a lot of stuff! Me.... I told them to read a book... eyerolls! I popped in a DVD - The Great Outdoors. Always a fun one to watch. I love John Candy movies.

I took a few photos yesterday as I was stitching through the hockey game on tv. I usually don't use pins, but I have been with this block and things are going together much better. I guess it does pay to stick a few pins in on the long seams.

I left it here last night.

Completed block this morning.

The next block is prepped and ready to go along with the colored parts for the following block. Sophie is just waiting for her food to be put down and refused to look at me for the photo.

Linking up with the Slow Stitchers at Kathy's Quilts this rainy Sunday morning in Florida. The rocket launch at 10:30 today has been postponed until Tuesday.....the boy was going nuts as he wanted to watch it and the internet was down. Now he didn't miss anything and there is another launch scheduled for 7ish tonight. I hear there is even one in New Zealand today as well. He will be on the NASA or discovery channels today watching and learning.

Love seeing each new block you make! Looks like they go together really nicely. Hope horses is a go for Emily, and your boy finds a launch to watch. I bet he loved all the NASA stuff when the SpaceX ship docked with the ISS. We enjoyed all that, too.

I SO want to make this hand sewn block but I know it's original to you, how did you draft it? I love any block that leads to the next like this one but especially like this one for it's intersecting colors... please walk me through how you did it? I do use pins--but like my small applique pins (they are only about an inch or so in length) for my hand piecing!!
I am a bit silly when it comes to pins--have '3' different ones in length that I use for different types of sewing!!!
I thought maybe kitties tail would 'whip' up the pieces for your next block so you didn't have to try to figure out which colors you wanted to use!!!!!:-)
and I got to watch 2 shows at the same time last night--
the big race was on the TV and out the window was a pretty light show--usually the heat lightning storm is further out in the ocean---but this time I was able to see alot of it and enjoy it--it is starting to look stormy out there today--
luv, di

Luckily hand stitchers can live quite happily without internet or electricity! Well, for a short period of time... not indefinitely! LOL
Enjoy your hand stitching today!

The Great Outdoors! I can hear my husband howling with laughter EVERY single time he saw the scene with the bear chasing him, "Bear, BBBear!" Miss hearing that laughter.
Your blocks are looking so pretty!

These blocks don't look easy but I know with hand piecing it isn't that bad But you still have a lot of seams that are coming together beautifully! Definitely will be an awesome quilt!

Sophie is not amused that you are keeping her waiting. i'm sure she's thinking "...it's so hard to get good staff these days...". Nice work on those blocks.
