RSC in red and maroon.....

It is always fun to play with a new color at the beginning of the month.  I'm getting so anxious to finish off the cobblestone blocks for this RSC quilt. I cut and sewed up the red....well more maroon is in the stash so this is a more maroon strip. Once the yellow is done... (no, I have not made that one yet!), I will have 10 strips. Each strip is 14 blocks so about 63 inches long. 10x4.5 would be 45 inches across. Hmmm how about a 2 inch grey strip in between them..... that would make it around 57..... but if I do a row of black cobblestones and one more grey strip..... it will be 63x63!

Then the question becomes what order do I put the strips in? A rainbow gradation? Willy nilly? Hmmmm. Decisions at the end of the day are never a good thing! (I'm writing this Friday evening). I just laid them out for a photo - no specific order.

I had my mini magic star blocks sitting next to the machine and finally trimmed them up to 4 inches and sewed them together. These had purple in them from August's color.

Linking up Saturday with the RSC.

I noticed I don't have to resize my photo's anymore when I add them to the post. That is a nice change!

I always love seeing your cobblestones! They're such a fun design idea with the columns of color. To make it wider, I would add another row of cobblestones in an additional color, rather than any sashing. Your mini magic stars look great! I haven't worked on mine in awhile, but they're on my list!

I look forward to your decisions - I should write my predictions on paper and check later to see.

Love your cobblestones. For some reason, I'm thinking Hopscotch. Weird, really. Love the photo in your header. wow. Good luck with the decision. ;^)

Red--I did find I had some already--but think I have a couple more small pieces coming in an order I just did so will be waiting to see them before I start on my red blocks-
and because of you--I am doing some of the mini magic stars--I am doing them as leaders/enders--but after I get a few made I am cutting them and making the final block--am using a charm pack so mine will be larger--but yours is so cute that small in all solids!!
have a great week end and fun with all the 'chicks'!!
luv, di

Your RED Cobblestones for the RSC look great, Deb, and I like your random layout done for the photo! Nice job on getting your Mini Magic Stars sewn together, too.

Loving your cobblestones quilt, will be fun to see how you decide to put it together and get it finished. Great idea for using up your scraps. Your mini magic stars quilt is really cute too.
