I finally cut out the crossed canoes for pink and yellow (oops, forgot to do them last month!) and I managed to cut out enough for 4 blocks for each instead of 2. Oh well, it never hurts to have some extra's. I managed to sew 3 of them together before the bobbin ran out. We won't mention that I managed to sew 2 of them together wrong and got the trusty seam ripper out for some usage before I sewed them together correctly, all under the watchful eye of Peanut the cat who draped himself over the sewing machine. Some stitching did happen while holding his tail out of the way of the needle.
Linking up on Saturday to the RSC.

these are so pretty (everytime I hear "canoe", the phrase "Tippicanoe and Tyler too" pops into my head from my high school history class!!)
Hope your Saturday is a good one hugs, Julierose
Congrats on getting some PINK sewing done for the RSC, Deb!! Too bad about needing to employ the seam ripper. :o((
Glad you held his tail out of the way. Not fun to imagine sewing him right into the block. The distraction might have something to do with all the reverse sewing. The blocks look great though, worth all the bother.
Crossed Canoes is such an elegant block, and they look terrific in the RSC colors so far. But your Hexie quilt in your blog banner is really stunning!
LOVE those Crossed Canoe blocks. They are so pretty!
yes I think I need to add that block to the list of blocks to be getting from the accuquilt site
That's a great block, and fun to see that you've had a chance to make some more this week! It's good to know that Peanut is always available to make sure you sew the parts correctly. 😉 Have a great Saturday, Deb!
LOL on the tail!!! Great RSC blocks! You have a very scrap happy blog!!!
Stitching blocks on your machine while holding your cats tail out of the way must have been an interesting experience. You know they want to stay close to us!
Canoe blocks are so cool! Sorry about the seam ripper, but I had to use mine this week too! :(
great blocks and silly kitty
Hi Deb, love this block. These are turning out beautifully.
I haven't seen a canoe block before, its lovely!
I love these. Crossed Canoes was one of the first blocks I put on my bucket list when I started quilting, and somehow 20+ years later I still haven't gotten to them. Too many squirrels, I guess :)
Your post cracked me up. Nothing a like a good laugh. Between the frog quilting (rip it, rip it) and sew as a tail swishes across the machine, I could relate to it all. The double canoe blocks are lovely.
