Wednesday update

Quite surprising to wake up to news of the 155MPH winds hitting farther south than they anticipated! That is moving farther away from me and we are technically out of the cone but just barely. When it is that big... it does whatever it wants! We are fully prepped and have everything we need. I anticipate winds with gusts around 60 and lots and lots of rain.

Greg and I are both working today from home like normal (ok, a little too much weather checking). One kid is keeping the dog occupied since he did not get a walk this morning. The other kid is awake but I have not seen him yet. I'm tucked away in my office.

We just have light rain here right now - we are a good hour north from Tampa and Orlando and centered between the two in Marion County.

Emily decided to utilize a wild bush in the back yard and make some jam last night! We have a wild BeautyBerry bush growing near the pool area. It looks like this with very pretty purple berries.

She got 5 - 12 ounce jars made. It didn't set right so it is more of a liquid than a jelly. We had a little leftover that we put in the fridge. They say it tastes like an elderberry with a hint of grape. I've never had elderberry, but it has a really nice flavor when boiled down and sugar is added.

Good to see your update, and I don't think anyone could blame you for checking the weather frequently! I keep suggesting to Mike that he should call his sister (who also lives in Ocala), but he's not taking my suggestion. (Guys!) Your girl sounds like she likes to keep busy!

So glad to hear the eye of the hurricane will likely miss you. I have a number of friends and family in Florida and each one has said they are getting rain now. It looks like most of the state will be impacted. I hope the fallout isn't devastating for anyone. ~Jeanne

It's just silly me--we have had lots and lots of rain here from around 4am to now--though right now it is finally brighter outside--we will all be on our own here in the apartment building from 4pm to 8am tomorrow morning-no body at the front desk and the doors are locked--unless you get a key to come back in you can't get in--so I got me a key--though I don't really plan to go anywhere!!!!!!But one never knows!!??? It looks like we will be getting alot more of Ian in the next 2 days if it stays on the path they have set for it--but you know these hurricanes don't always listen to the weathermen!!! I am all prepared--and will just keeping doing my thing--stitching and such!!!
take care--hugs, di
