Tiny Tuesday

Today I picked what I was thinking would be a quick one. Well, we won't discuss how many maroon and cream parts I made. This one is called 'tents of the enemy'. Excuse the one different cream print, I had an oops on the cutting and was not about to make another one!

Yikes! Hate it when what should be an easy block turns complicated. Getting my math brain out-- a nine patch in a 6 inch block should have 2.5 inch unfinished subunits. So the half triangle blocks are from the easy angle with a 2.5 inch strips. The split halves though, are they 1.5 inch strips with the companion angle?

Don't you hate when that happens - the finished block is so sweet, so I guess all's well that ends well?

The end result looks good. Sorry you had to struggle with the block though. And I didn't notice a different cream print :)

The block looks great (though a bit hard!). Way to persevere!

Glad you finally got it and it looks great! I can see where those quarter square triangles could cause great grief with the placement of the maroon and cream - I probably would have had to make them over and over. Tents of the enemy is now an appropriate name! ~Jeanne

I don't know why but some blocks do want to give us fits. All is well that ends well because it does look cute!
