I pulled some things out of the scrap bins and they happened to be blue strips. I did a quick quilt as you go and added the strips to make a 18x14 table mat. Slightly too big but oh well, it will catch more crumbs and spills! I attempted binding by machine. I should have changed the top thread to a blue to blend in better, but it went pretty well for a first attempt. I'll give it a try again as it was so quick to add a binding this way.
The backing is some extra sewing fabrics I had on the fabric wall.
I'll link up Friday with The Joyful Quilter and her RSC22 Scrap Challenge and Saturday with the RSC Challenge.

What a neat tablemat;))) I am beginning my de-stash project; my room is full of piles: keep/ donate...hugs, julierose
Awesome, you got that project done and dusted! And pretty too.
done and quilted! looks great
Quick table mat for the win!! BLUE and stripes, too? SEW perfect for this month's TABLE SCRAPS Challenge, Deb! Nice job on the machine sewn binding.
That's a great way to use up some strips! I bet it will shrink when washed - mine all have. Several I've wished I had made bigger to begin with! It's definitely fun to have all kinds of placemat choices for the family!
Pretty and practical. I always do my bindings by machine. Hope the quilt police are not reading this!!!!
Love your blues! Sometimes a slightly bigger table mat is needed! I, too, have been doing some binding on the machine! Every time is better and thread that blends is a big help!
The strippy placemats were a perfect way to finish the month for Table Scraps! I haven't mastered machine sewing the binding yet but I have to admit to liking the handwork ... except when I'm running late on a deadline!
