Slow Sunday with the Frosty's

I was doing a bit of hand quilting the last few days and since I don't wear thimbles of any kind, my fingers are a little sore. I have 6 of the 12 frosty's quilted.

Here are the six that are done in the middle of the quilt. I need to mark the next 3 so it is ready when I want to pick this up again Sunday night. I am marking them using the 45 degree angle line on my ruler. These Frosty McChill's were a free sew along with Melisa at Pinkernpunkin blog.

I discovered early on-that I had to have a thimble of some kind -- my firs one was a leather style one--but they only lasted just so long and then a new quilter teacher came to the quilt store to teach and she used a metal thimble from TJ Lane--that I love--(I have long hard nails-always have had them so regular thimbles just don't work for me) these thimbles let my nails be outside of the thimble--I have 2 of them I use-they are a metal that when you finally do wear a hole in them after a year or two--I can just send them into the company and they fix them for free and send them back to me--in the 10 years I have had them--I think I have sent them in 3 times--but I do do alot of hand quilting--all my quilts are hand quilted--plus I use them for embroidery work and applique work--now I am sure this is far more information that you wanted to read--sorry!! hugs, di
Ps--we only got 2 very small rain storms from the hurricane--one the day before and one late on the day of the storm--both lasted less that 10 minutes!

I have to use a thimble when I hand sew…hurts too much without one. Your cross hatch quilting looks great! Love those snowmen ⛄️! Gail at the Cozy Quilter

I like the simple straight line quilting on those pretty Frostys.

I dont use a thimble either and I'm currently doing big stitch quilting, so can only do it every few days. Your Frosties are looking great.
